Once you hit the important milestone of level 45 in AION 2, the real adventure begins! This is when you need to focus on making your character stronger by getting better gear. Gear means the armor and weapons your character wears, and the better the gear, the stronger you become. You will want your character to be powerful for both PvP (player versus player) battles and PvE (player versus environment) challenges.

How to Gain Powerful Gear After Reaching Level 45
Here are the first important steps you should take right after reaching max level:
- Press
Mto open your map and go to the mainland area. - Complete Strongholds and Sealed Dungeons as often as you can. These places drop gear with lots of stats like HP, attack power, and defense.
- Do not wait to do these later—doing them now gives you lots of helpful power for both PvP and PvE.
Strongholds and sealed dungeons are your main source of gear upgrades early on. They give you the important materials and experience to start building a strong character.
Once you begin focusing on the Abyss, this is the PvP area where you get special gear and currency called Abyss Points. You can earn Abyss Points by fighting in different areas, especially by capturing portals that appear every few hours. These portals open for just 5 minutes and offer the best chance to get many Abyss Points fast.
What to Do with Abyss Points and How to Improve Your PvP Gear
When you collect Abyss Points, you can spend them in the Battlefield Trade Shop. Here, you will find different gear pieces specially designed for PvP, like earrings, rings, and weapons. Earrings are a great place to start because they are affordable and give a 5% boost to PvP damage, which helps you defeat opponents more easily.
Besides gear, you can also find Feathers in the Abyss and on the mainland. Feathers are special items you can place into the Monolith, a kind of magic board where you unlock stats like PvP evasion, critical hit chance, attack power, and defense. These stats help you avoid getting hit or increase the damage you deal in PvP fights.
| Feather Stat | Effect in PvP |
|---|---|
| PvP Evasion | Helps you dodge attacks from other players. |
| PvP Crit Hit | Increases your chance to deal critical damage. |
| PvP Attack | Boosts the damage you do to other players. |
| PvP Defense | Reduces the damage you take from other players. |
You can also buy special tokens from the trade shop to fill out your monolith board faster, but these tokens cost lots of Abyss Points. It is a grindy process, meaning you need to spend time playing to gather enough points and materials.
Crafting and Improving Gear for PvE Battles
Crafting in AION 2 is a key way to get better gear, especially for PvE challenges like dungeons and expeditions. Crafting means making items using materials you collect from the world. You can find crafting benches in towns where you combine materials to create weapons, armor, and other equipment.
Here are important things to know about crafting:
- You collect materials by mining nodes called Oracalum and Odelia, which look like glowing orbs in the sky.
- Crafting has a chance to produce special or rare items, like the expert Calcium Greatsword, but this only happens about 25% of the time.
- Crafting can take a long time because you have to do it repeatedly and use a bit of luck to get the best items.
Once you have crafted your gear, you can improve it by adding Mana Stones. These stones provide extra bonuses and increase your combat power. Simply use the Engrave Mana Stone button on your gear to add them. This is very important to reach higher gear scores needed for the toughest PvE content.
When your gear score reaches around 900, you can start running more difficult expeditions like Drop Near and Conquest. These dungeons drop better gear and give you chances to get special items called pity pieces. Pity pieces are rewards that guarantee you get a good item after several runs, so don't worry if you don’t get good gear immediately.
For earning Kinah (the game’s currency), focus on regional quests. These quests give a good amount of Kina and other rewards that help you maintain and upgrade your equipment.
Lastly, even if you are mostly a PvP player, don’t ignore PvE activities. They provide important gear and resources that make you stronger overall and improve your chances in PvP battles as well.
